Upward Bound

Serving 102 eligible high school Scholars in select schools in Durham, Chatham, and Lee Counties. The Upward Bound Program helps Scholars build the skills and motivation necessary to pursue and succeed in college and attain a Bachelor’s degree. Upward Bound is a part of the Office of the Provost at the University of Chapel Hill at North Carolina.

Our Goal

Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families, and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
